Does this work

So I write this from my x10 mini pro and watching galactica why is starbuck interrogating someone technically there should be someone else hohohoho but hmmm

I am going to do my own comic I think and will entitle it the adventures of 3 daft taru and basically take the piss out of the story line off FFXI!!!!!

Crimbo

After concluding I'd rather play Battlefield 3 as a Tarutaru I had a look at the new updates to FFXI that are to be included. Yet again the Summoner job is pretty lackluster in updates. Nevermind my other jobs aren't too bad.

BLM, THF, SMN seem to be my top jobs atm tho RDM isn't too far off. Actually having thought about that I am sure there is another job in there....

Can't remember and got sidetracked then.

Anyway it would be fun to be able to do some more singleplayer stuff with FFXI I mean why does everything have to be in groups. Bloody Japanese and after reading an Article about Dirty Dog and story telling (they did uncharted series which i still haven't played) there is one thing that stands out mediocre story telling gets so much good publicity. Especially that stupid sappy typical Japanese stuff which is being churned out at the moment.

Example Final Fantasy XIII
What a load of balls.
Starts off poorly (fighting is not fun and done on cutaways again I honestly thought we'd moved past that poor type of RPG). The story is gobshite, with a few coincidences and guilt and a touch of posing you get FFXIII. Fighting whilst posing is nonsense.

Why is it in the Future they don't know tactics. Surely they played Modern Warfare and know that they can't pose in the middle of the street. (I mean you'd be dead before you knew it).

I think that is one of the main problems. The other thing is attention to detail, I love in FF7 FF8 FF9 that it feels like a real working world (to some extent) I hate it when the cutscenes are over and there isn't so much of that feel. I don't understand what they aimed for with FFXIII, I feel it is weak, overrated and dull.

Typical Japanese Story line married with some far fetched cosmic beings or religious idols, its all nonsense none of it is remotely appreciative or hard hitting, and mostly just ludicrous.

FF7 I thought would set the standard but the back story has steadily been getting worse. Though FF9 has a lot of fun moments. Most in the opening 10hrs (it is a lot of play time I know)

naturally I'm ranting

Has Clarkson really crashed off the rails? Threesomes? Split with his wife?

All sounds mad but is it anyone's business really?

On a note: Can't be bothered to deal with people who are being dumb. Go to work have a laugh do your job.

If you're going to work being miserable and shouting at people being stressed. Get another job before you have a heart attack. I suppose thats the only thing that will save me from those sorts of people.

Meh

So the Clarkson thing is still going on. Good grief get over it it was a smarter comment then most believe, as the BBC continues to have things that "BALANCE" they've taken what he said completely out of context and Clarkson should not be made to apologise at all infact any moron who says anything else about the subject should have a lobotomy.

Monetizing

So I looked at Adsense and thought. Nah can't imagine that being a good idea
When I lived in Brussels...

it snowed
Why my phone sucks: The photo is out of focus.

I think I should be asleep:

Did I take a wrong turn >.> and end up in Texas? alas no its Lakeside!

One reason Best Buy has not done well is its too expensive. Very Simple. The range and stock is too small. The reason Best Buy was successful was that it's buying power meant it could be the cheapest and they sold volume. Typical American way of doing it, enMass.

We bought loads of DVD's from Best Buy - I even got my MiniDisc player from there. I wish I could do over for reasons unknown.

Having watched hot tub time machine I embarked on turning my shower into a time machine. Having bumped my head on the sink .... It did not give me the same effect as Doc Brown.

I'd still be there if it wasn't for the 2002 economic downturn. 150,000 to 55,000 employees 2 in 3 got fired!

Petrol is too expensive I could go exploring in the car, 89cents (50p roughly) was a good exchange rate then, a gallon for 89 octane in Texas now I'm paying 1.41 pence a liter £80 to fill up the above Volvo (300hp :p) Tarus like power.

Apparently Algae has lots of power in it, for use as an alternative fuel it could be interesting. We need cheaper power immediately!

9 dollars to 80 pounds. in 10years. though most of the increase has been in the last two. Probably doesn't help that the UK government keeps increasing tax (for no reason) I fail to see the point in increasing it so that we are better prepared in the future for increases thats complete utter nonsense. We have almost reached the breaking point already, any further increases and we will be completely screwed. I live pretty close to work so maybe its about time to get a bike or something.

Why doesn't the street look like this outside... aside from the Japanese letters >.> Would be fun. Why don't we plant more trees, why haven't we go more parks / for running etc. I feel like moving back to Sweden again, however the penalties for missing payments and stuff is insane they soon get the debt collectors. Example:

Hospital books you an appointment sends a letter, if you miss the letter or on holiday you could find yourself with a 300kr fine which is like 30 pounds /dollars (the exchange rate blows at the moment.) alas should you never receive this invoice as you're still on holiday or abroad (this happened to me twice) it goes to the debt collectors and then its up at 800kr 80pounds and soon gets higher though I have not heard anything recently since my complaining as lets face it I can't afford to pay that nor the 250pounds to vacuum a flat that my previous landlord wants or company. Its all a bit punitive really.

Ahhhh Attack of the Lycopodiums.

No don't expect this fecking blog to make any sense as its going to jump from reality to politics to anything that is on my mind.

Taru infiltration of someplace .... I think it was Fort something or other....
I think my phone is dead. fuck it

Music to live by :

Whatever its late Sunday night I have to get up in the morning. No one reads this type of shit but whatever :p

Taru Rage!

Daft Punk :
TRON LEGACY!

Jack Wall:
Mass Effect and Mass Effect II OST

Star Trek the movie OST new one :P

Of course I loaded these onto my Sony Erisson X10 Mini Pro poo and the fucking Alarm doesn't work ... WHAT THE FUCK STOPS IT FROM FUCKING WORKING? this is absolutely fucking mental. Ahh forgot to put sunday on it but it still has problems ffs

Don't forget Battlestar Galactica - Though the series got a bit religious at the end... and my phone says its sorry not good enough >.> fucking errors.

OK One thing about modern phones you can customise the alarm etc etc, however it sucks for the most part I have no idea what its trying to do now. Ok it still didn't ring! Oh Wait here we go ... The screen has gone dead. What the hell is it doing \( >_>)/ ffs

Now I am watching a very odd movie Julie and Julia why on earth would I watch that. Um... whats with u can never have too much butter they should be fat like watermelons holy shit cream too >.> now cheese god damn it. Cholesterol doesn't seem to exist in the bloody movies does it.

I think I have watched Hot Tub Time Machine one too many times, I watched it twice over the weekend. How the hell can I do that? I've memorised Grandma's boy, Ground hog day and Baseketball

what on earth why are they making a big deal of poaching eggs in this bloody movie. Its not even remotely hard.... what the hell....

"Sometimes I can't help but wonder...." I've changed the next bit from the movie. Are people this crap at cooking? I know I'm crap at cleaning.

Zynga IPO

Why on earth is Zynga the worlds biggest piece of shit game software developer worth anything more than 50000 pounds they have asked for 9 billion in their first offering. That is absolutely mental.I can't understand how a creator of unimaginative games can be worth that much its ridiculous. People buy some terrible shit don't they.

Of More interest is the downward spiral of Square Enix a company which has created some insanely well developed games Final Fantasy 7 being a good example in that every character had a back story and you knew they had a back story it gave the world a sense of being or it could be real. (much like the level of detail that went into the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings movies) you may never fully notice the detail or appreciate it but if you coincidently look closely you will see something is there. Whereas Final Fantasy 13 had nothing. Absolutely nothing, that and the voice overs are literally terrible thank you talentless american actors. Final Fantasy 14 was that bad it will have a relaunch in 2013 which is a long way away. Needless to say that was a disaster.

They have seriously lost their way.

Why on earth would we want to sack Clarkson

So Clarkson said that the protesters should be shot who cares. All those smart arses saying that oh what about the people who were treating Hammond? Where they even in the protests? Not everyone who didn't turn up for work went on a strike line.

The bigger questions really are. Why on earth does anyone care about Clarkson's "Top Gear" Persona rants? Do you really take it seriously given that its only 21000 complaints I think he's had that many from people with caravans, and why should we give in to the bullying Minority. A Bully isn't the majority of people it is just one person who always wants to be at odds with everyone else and we shouldn't be pandering to them. Freedom of speech is important and Clarkson is an idiot so an idiot half the time. No one should really be shot but what people should be doing is looking at the real reason they're striking.

A Strike causes a lot of hidden costs all of which are paid by the employer secondly you lose wages for the days you are on strike. Lastly does it really do anything.

The unions don't seem to be smart enough to prepare for this prior to it happening. Why do I say this. Well in the rest of socialist europe they have stronger labour laws so we are always going to be first on the chopping blocks when it comes to international companies. This then has a follow on effect on income to the government. The Government does not generate income indefinitely what i mean by that is that the private sector employed have to generate enough wealth for the public sector to function no private sector no public sector.

Our nation seems to be loosing too much money to middlemen and hangers on. Consultants, Agencies, contractors and outsourcing should be minimised from any perspective.

If you're working as a contractor for a company though its worse, all your rights are taken away and you do not have much choice in some areas i,e engineering. Its nigh on impossible to get a permanent position unless you can bullshit your way through the selection process which applies to external people too. So even if you've been in a position for over more than a year there is no preferential treatment even if you know the job inside and out. They could just as easily replace you one day with a permanent worker they just hired who has no clue.....

Where is the incentive in that? As for agencies in general why would you care about them all they do is leach from you. All they do is hurt the economy. You have no pension no sick pay no holiday pay and get easily fired and the government doesn't even want to stick up for you. All the EU rules on the issue are sensible not mental which the Government would have you believe and you end up wondering who is fighting in your corner. The UK Government is run by lobbyists they have no interest for the normal person.

Companies are getting more and more inefficient and corrupt by lack of culture and work ethic.

Cutting costs senselessly hurts more than it can possibly gain. In the long run you end up weakening the company into a position that does not work at all. The people who end up making the most out of it are bureaucrats and politicians who in no way add value to a product. Producing paper and shouting at people do nothing to getting a product out. Working out easier ways to get things done for the person actually doing the work is much more valuable then getting another watchdog or oversight committee or whatever nonsense. KISS Keep it simple stupid will always be number 1 overcomplicating to the point where you need a specialist job to run said over complication will always be the more idiotic way of doing things but unfortunately it seems most companies strive for that stupidity. Outsourcing being the number one stupidity in the world. There is no way that outsourcing will give you what you want for cheaper or better in the long run. You are always compromised and if you don't properly protect yourself there may never be a way out.

Examples: You have a company canteen. Why do you need to outsource it. The workers only work at your site and no where else and only use produce delivered there, they have supervisors and managers. So what difference does it make outsourcing it? They end up taking a profit. You could save money right there just doing it yourself and for once why not look at doing good food instead of a variety of slop. Smaller menus please with better food = better working environment and healthier staff.

Outsourcing Maintenance and cleaning. How do you make sure the maintenance is done properly and the cleaning is the best it could be. Preventative Maintenance is so important that it could save a lot of businesses. It is not something you should cut back as it will just weaken everything in the long run.

Efficiency. Do you know what you are looking at when you look at those damned matrices that you are so fond off? Whatever you put in is what you'll get out of it if you have no taken the time to go down onto the shop floor / factory floor and look at what is going on how can you know what is going on in your business?

Layers of management = layers of fluff and waffle. The more the more likely everything is going to hell and you've lost control of the situation. How can you know that you have everything working properly.

Also Empowerment (dumbest word in the world) Giving people responsibility on any level is one way to start ensuring that the people you hire are who you need is another making sure that they stay that way and continue to be productive is your responsibility. Keeping them happy not wasting their time not wasting your time either. Also why keep disruptive staff or people unable to do the job. If they cannot be retrained maybe it is time to let them go rather than let them rot the company. Developing a sense of responsibility and that it is everyone's company rather than some investors is the main aim.

Companies have responsibility to look after employees look after the environment and look after the community. Making sure they don't bleed the life out of things. Being profitable to stay in business is equally important but being profitable and reinvesting will benefit everyone rather than paying out huge dividends. Add Value as Warren Buffet says rather than taking out money from the business which tends to happen all to often.

Running a cash reserve is not what anyone does these days everything is done on the back of borrowing which becomes a balancing act. Why should it be so : Reinvesting profits would surely be the least risky option (especially when the inevitable downturn occurs). Avoiding overcapacity goes with this too, I could go on.

Basically read Toyota Way related books which should stand you in good stead. Though they have had their own problems you can always improve on something (just don't aim to save money the old fashioned way as ignorant cost cutting weakens the business and causes resentment amongst employees.)

Wiki Murphy's Law

If anything will go wrong it will go wrong.

Also can be interpreted as

SIMPLIFY SIMPLIFY SIMPLIFY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SIMPLIFY!

Complex bureaucracy just means people are going to get things wrong and not bother to fill things in.

Wrong style of managing

If you have a shop and you have 3 sales people and 30 customers. Each customers tells the sales staff they like yellow tiles, the sales people then know the customers only want those. So you should order 30 yellow tiles....

If the Manager has not ever met the customer and doesn't talk to his sales staff instead tells them what the customer wants and does something different.

Why the fuck do you think we have 400 purple tiles?

The Manager has broken the first rule of management, your subordinates know better than you.

Common Sense

What is he term "I thought it would be Common Sense"

To me it just implies that someone thinks I am stupid. No Common Sense has no place in business as it means someone is presuming that something is going to happen. Sorry no I learned a while ago that unless its written down or on something I am not going to do jack shit.

It's like people expect other people to be clairvoyant or something, honestly I don't know what the fuck people are thinking. Then they get all pissed off if something isn't done the exact way the expect it to be. Just fuck off and do it yourself. It's only going to get done if you ask and say how you want it done otherwise everything between A) asking for it B) getting it is all up for interpretation, and in that space I will do whatever the fuck I want.

If you're saying "Common Sense" in business think for a second. 1) Your culture is fucked. 2) why aren't you telling people this in the first place 3) don't be an asshole 4) You're the one without Common Sense for not pointing it out in the first place.

Seriously Bored....

Somehow I think that certain companies are lying their wee little socks off.

There is a new buzzword from Sweden "SUSTAINABILITY!" there is also "CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY"

What does it all mean? Most of the time this stuff is just a cover all for common sense as is the case with Empowerment which just means giving someone responsibility.

Sustainability is a bit more complex in some respects but in essence it is about using sustainable resources and in a way minimizing waste.

Corporate Social Responsibility is about looking after local residents and your employees. Doing voluntary work and making sure you clean up your own mess not try to blame someone or cover it up and doing due diligence.

What am I getting at? There is no way that most American companies can see what their arse end is doing when even the the supervisors of employees don't even understand what job they do properly. By far in the worst way to create waste is to hire a shit load of middle management. Its like a land of zombies whose task is to fill in pointless bits of paperwork in order to create even more sodding bureaucracy.

Seriously if you have 3 lines of development all doing the same sort of work why does all three have to use 3 different types of paperwork to convey the same sort of information and one of them can't be bothered to do it properly. Simplify! One set of paperwork to cover all! Minimize the sodding waste re task the people creating the nonsense. You will find a lot more productivity in this case. There does seem to be a pretty crude way of thinking which goes "Somethings wrong!" and then spend the next couple of weeks implementing charts, graphs, diagrams and metrices which don't even show what is wrong properly because what you could have done in the first place was go down stairs and have a look where its going wrong for yourself. Better yet get the staff to stop and think about the problems themselves give them responsibility, they aren't stupid treating them as such won't get you anywhere .... EVER!

The next biggest problem is the obsession with outsourcing, why on earth get contract workers to fill permanent vacancies. They aren't good enough to become a full-time employee but you will spend the same sort of money paying their agencies and the like. No proper background checks no trial periods no training.

The biggest problem!

No training. You positively cannot go about anything with no training, it is absolutely insane. No one has a clue it gets even worse when you get people who think they do when they do not.

The whole thing is just crazy.

I saw an article about a certain american company with XXXXXXXXXXXX the man who saved .XXXX are you kidding me? I mean seriously? the company is in debt up to its eyeballs. It sacked a load of staff and cut the pay of everyone else. All maintenance and training has been slashed, and not put back equipment is getting old and worn out. No money will be spent. Everything is falling apart and its damn near the end of the company. This is what is termed in Business Studies as a failing company and a prime candidate for "Turnaround."

It sold off loads of brands in an attempt to focus on its own. Lost a lot of competancy, I mean some of its most sucessful iconic products are based on the other brands platforms. Where does that leave the parent company. I don't know but I am in doubt that it can keep up with development in some fields.

Safety, Dynamics and Engine Technology are the mains ones which is almost a cover all. The design I feel is being lack luster and a lack of a coupe to rival M3s and 1 Ms is probably something they are missing (Also a lot of other companies are missing). They miss the point of these pinnacle of engineering specs. People want the other cars because they are "Related" to the fast ones, they won't buy the fast ones for various reasons but feel their normal car as inherited some of the traits. They don't know any better. Also I am absolutely unconvinced by the rantings of idiots that say you want 400hp and 45mpg isn't that a bit pointless.

No it fucking isn't if I drive down the damn road or get stuck in traffic I don't want to be wasting petrol for no reason whatsoever I want to be wasting petrol when I choose too, and we should get serious about 3rd generation biofuels and reduce the amount of fuel we are using that won't last. Not to say bio fuels are entirely sustainable.

Six Sigma is balls its complete and utter balls. Yes statisical analysis is good but what are you looking for. When you go in to look for answers you won't see the answers. It only shows what you want to see. For me it just generally shows that people are missing more problems that are not listed. Glossing over real problems. Ignoring the actual working staff, and going back on how it was done in the beginning. No one knows what they are doing. Its Mental!!!!!!

Seriously unconvincing

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/formula_one/13878359.stm

this one is a bit unconvincing. You want to improve economy? Fine, I have a better idea.

All technology available to engineers should be made available any configuration.

the qualifying timing rule will make sure people are sufficiently fast enough.

My idea is simple. Any engine should be able to be used, be it turbocharged supercharged, both, naturally aspirated. High Revving large displacement.

1 tank of fuel to last the race.

and a points scoring system for the trophy most important to teams "The constructors title." Whoever has the lowest fuel consumption (and not lapped you still have to be fast) should be awarded the same amount of points as a win for a driver and so on. This will give the teams something to think about.

Hybridisation should have be more free of regulation so we can see the teams optimise their systems for all the way around the track - always on always working boosting constantly. We would see some proper hybrids then and some very fast paced technology development.

That would give F1 an edge and give it its cutting edge feel. Even though we have seen some pretty damn awesome racing mostly down to artificial differences "push to pass" and KERS, these sorts of changes would see what F1 really needs variety. Just imagine 4 cylinder turbo supercharged vs V12 turbos V8 turbos V6 turbos V8 high rev. The combinations are endless, but all the teams would have to work to a point as their car would still need to be fast.

It would also show what would be the most fuel efficient combination. Along with this suppliers should be required to only supply a maximum of 3 teams and also open up the tire choices and vendors. Vendors would only be allowed 3 teams and this would be chosen at random by the FIA charging would be capped and development would have to be done on the tire makers "dime"

Would give us more variety again.

Secondly open up the aero rules a little, I think the push to pass should be linked to a traction control system as its too dangerous to remove that much load instantly in high speed corners.

EFI control should be different for every team.

I would say that traction control should be used but I am torn on this. It could raise the limit that the drivers could achieve and then some, it could make for some impossible maneuvers

Poser

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/formula_one/13953045.stm

This is getting boring. Hamilton may be "interesting" but he's falling into a strange crowd it seems. He is turning into a bit of a bitch and its getting boring.

Lots of people think Button is Boring but Canada proved he is one of the best. I don't care what anyone says it takes Buttons consistancy, pace and accuracy to do what he did in that race. Hamilton would have stacked it and he did, he is too anxious to be able to make things stick. He just shoves it in where as Button "poaches" which is a more professional way of overtaking by maximizing your chances and minimizing the risk if you know its going to be your best bet then you wait. However he had so many opportunities in Canada it was staggering and the only mistake he made saw Hamilton try to overtake in the dumbest of places and I really don't care what Brundle says theres no way he knew he was there especially with that aggressive an overtake into the path of the other car (Hamilton went into a dissappearing zone where the racing line is) it did not go well.

I hate Hippies

No seriously I hate hippies. Greenpeace are unrealistic idealists. A lot of what people put in the media seems to be anti middle class and anti upper class. They seem to think that the middle classes are stopping progress and that they are polluting everything.

Seriously the High Speed Link lobbey seem to think attacking the middle classes for hindering them building the line up to Birmingham is somehow the right thing to do, and by saying they are hindering the lower classes seems bullshit and a needless attack and also stating that the link will reduce pollution. That will not get anyone to follow your cause.

Then you have Greenpeace who seem to think the middle classes are responsible for all pollution in the world.

What baffles me the most is when they try to limit the amount of cars going into London by congestion charging. They are going there because they have too no one sits in traffic because they want too. It has had an effect but as soon as its later on at night the traffic is a complete Nightmare!!! Effectively just moving the problem.

This is pretty much the same sort of thinking that dominates poor production lines and badly performing companies.

Flow needs to be increased. People have to be able to move about more freely. Cost of travel limits the amount of travel people do. Better flow also has its advantages in that vehicles will not be sitting still for long periods of time, pollution should decrease. Maybe stop start technology would aid with reducing the amount of pollution but it doesn't reduce the large cost to the Economy that people sitting in traffic not being able to do jobs costs. Not to mention the flow of money out of the country to oil nations.
